Pickleball information, such as rules, venue, registration, etc, here.
The Kamloops Host Society is hard at work planning for a successful Games experience for all participants, volunteers, and supporters. They are building an exciting event that celebrates active living, community, and sport for adults aged 55+.
With only 5 weeks left to register for the 55+ BC Games, they are asking for your support in helping increase participation. The final day to register is June 30, 2026.
Ron Lancaster: A Satisfied Returning Pickleball Participant
Ron, who is a member of the Golden Ears Pickleball Club, participated in the Nanaimo 2025 55+ BC Games for the first time, and he had a blast.
He adds: “I enjoy an active lifestyle, and being with others who also enjoy being active was a great experience. The games were well organized, the players and volunteers were friendly, and they made my experience so enjoyable that I am returning again this year.
I will be playing pickleball in the Men’s 70 plus 3.0 category as well as the Mixed Doubles 65 plus. We will travel with our friends and we are looking forward to another great experience. To stay active is to keep the ‘old man’ away.”
Background Information
The 55+ BC Games is an annual multi-sport event organized and hosted by a different community each year. The Games attract over 3,500 participants aged 55 years and older in addition to over 1,200 volunteers. The unique multi-sport nature of the Games creates an experience that goes beyond a typical competition. Each host community is able to showcase their city with a variety of sporting competitions and social events. Many participants attend year after year to connect with friends they have made at previous Games. The BC Seniors Games Society (BCSGS) is the governing body of the 55+ BC Games and oversees the delivery of the Games each year.
According to Pickleball BC President David Snell: “As compared to our Pickleball BC strategic objectives, the 55+ BC Games are focused on growing pickleball participation, building community, and promoting healthy active living across British Columbia—especially for older adults. Both associations also emphasize friendly competition, volunteer support, and the social side of the sport, where players return year after year to reconnect with friends.”
