Pickleball BC (PBC) Announces $600 Matching Subsidy Program For 2026 BC Sanctioned Tournaments
March 16, 2026 – Vancouver, BC
Pickleball BC has introduced a new financial assistance initiative for 2026. The organization states: “PBC is pleased to announce a new up to $600 ‘Matching’ Subsidy Program for 2026 BC Sanctioned Tournaments.”

This program complements existing support from Pickleball Canada and aims to help tournaments cover referee costs while promoting the use of PBC-accredited officials for all matches.
Program Requirements:
- Tournament organizers must apply to have their event officially recognized
- Approval from both PBC and Pickleball Canada is required
- Tournament directors must submit detailed reports on subsidy utilization
- The PBC funds specifically target referee expenses
The combined assistance potentially reaches $1,200 when both PCO ($600) and PBC ($600) subsidies are awarded.
According to PBC President David Snell: “Having an accredited PBC referee to call your match has numerous advantages…ensures fair and accurate calls; matches run efficiently…and official rules are enforced.”
